Our recreational program is for children ages 6.5 to 12 years old. These classes are great as a continuation of your boy’s gymnastics career, a supplement to other sports, or for the very beginner.

While the flexibility, strength, and coordination developed in these classes are specific to gymnastics, the skills are important for everyone at such a critical age.

Beginner

The student will work on beginner gymnastics skills and body positions utilizing the floor, parallel bars, high bar, pommel horse, rings, and vault. Trampoline and tumble trak exercises are also incorporated in order to improve body awareness. Handstands, forward and backward rolls, pull-overs, and basic swings are taught in this class. Basic skills on all apparatus should be mastered at this level.

Students are required to have instructor approval to enroll in any of the below classes

Intermediate

After mastering the basic sequential skills and developing strength and flexibility, the gymnast should be ready for intermediate exercises. This level incorporates an increase in strength and flexibility and intermediate skills on all apparatus. Front handsprings, back handsprings, and round-offs are some of the skills taught in this class.
