LakeShore Academy's Girls USAG Team

Our Girls Team is coached by Irina Kudina, former member of the Soviet Union Olympic Reserve Artistic Gymnastics Team and Acro-Sports Team.  All Around Champion of the Soviet Union, 1979-1981; Youth European Champion at Acro-Sport Tournament, 1979; World Acro Sport Champion, 1981; Coach of All Around World and European Sport Acrobatics Champions, 1999; and numerous other champions and prize-winners.  Since coming to LakeShore Academy, Irina has led our competitors and our teams to first place championships on the State, Regional, and National Level.  Since 2002 at each Team Level (4-9) there was an Individual All-Around State Champion from LakeShore Academy.  In 2010, one of Irina's students took sixth place at the USAG Eastern National Championship in level 9 and placed first on floor in the entire nation! Congratulations!

At the highest level, our team girls meet and train 6-7 times a week.  These young women train on advanced skills on uneven bars, floor exercise, vault, and balance beam.  Their workouts focus on flexibility, strength training, and dance in order to perform complex and highly advanced routines.  The training is rigorous and requires serious commitment on behalf of the students and their families.

Girls Pre-Team and Future Stars

We also have a Girls Pre-Team and Future Stars program.  The young girls (3 and up) girls in these prgrams train 2-3 times per week.  These girls work on developing their flexibility and strength, while perfecting basic gymnastics skills that will make them successful on our Girls Team.  These champions-to-be work on all four compeitive events, learning the body positions, techniques, and vocabulary that they will need in their years ahead.

USAG is the sole national governing body for the sport of gymnastics in the Unite States.  USAG sets the rules and policies that govern gymnastics in the US.
